Indian Army TES-57 Recruitment 2026: 90 Posts for 10+2 PCM, Apply 14 Oct–12 Nov

The Indian Army has opened applications for the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES-57), for the course starting in July 2027. Unmarried young men who passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths (60% aggregate) and appeared in JEE Main 2026 can apply online at joinindianarmy.nic.in from 14 October (12 noon) to 12 November 2026 (12 noon). There are 90 vacancies.

There is no written exam. Candidates are shortlisted on their JEE Main rank, then take a five-day SSB interview and a medical. After 4 years of training (3 years at a Cadets Training Wing and 1 year at IMA Dehradun), cadets get an engineering degree and a permanent commission as Lieutenant.

Eligibility

• Education: Class 12 (or equivalent) from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Maths, and at least 60% aggregate in PCM, worked out from Class 12 marks. Enter your exact PCM percentage to two decimals, without rounding off.
• JEE Main 2026: you must have appeared in it. Your JEE Main application number (B.E./B.Tech paper) is needed in the form, and shortlisting uses your JEE Main CRL.
• Age: 16½ to 19½ years on 1 July 2027 — born not before 1 January 2008 and not after 1 January 2011. Only the date of birth in your Class 10 certificate is accepted.
• Unmarried male and must stay unmarried until training ends. Marrying after applying cancels selection.
• Nationality: Indian citizen, or a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated to settle in India (with an eligibility certificate where needed).
• Candidates withdrawn from NDA, OTA, IMA or other academies on disciplinary grounds cannot apply.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting: applications are screened and a cut-off is fixed on JEE Main CRL and other parameters. Shortlisted candidates log in and pick an SSB centre and date (first come, first served). Once picked, it cannot be changed.
2. SSB interview (5 days): at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru or Jalandhar. Stage I failures return the same day; those who pass go to Stage II with a psychologist, group testing officer and interviewing officer. The call letter comes by e-mail and SMS only.
3. Medical examination at the nearest military hospital, right after SSB, for recommended candidates.
4. Merit list and joining letter: merit is based only on SSB marks. Higher education or NCC do not count. Joining letters follow merit and vacancies.

First-time SSB candidates for this type of commission get AC III-tier train or bus fare both ways.

Training and Engineering Degree

The degree is awarded under Jawaharlal Nehru University's ordinance; only two academic failures are allowed over the four years. Training costs (₹13,940 a week as of 2021) are paid by the government but recovered from cadets who leave for personal reasons.

Salary and Promotion

Officers from Lieutenant to Brigadier also get Military Service Pay of ₹15,500 a month, plus dearness allowance, a dress allowance and field-area allowances depending on posting.

How to Apply

1. Go to joinindianarmy.nic.in, click the online application button and complete the registration (link below).
2. Fill the TES-57 form: Class 10 and 12 details, exact PCM % to two decimals, and your JEE Main 2026 (B.E./B.Tech) application number.
3. You can edit the form until the closing time, but must click Submit each time.
4. After applications close, download two copies of the form with your roll number.

Documents to Carry to the SSB

• Self-attested printout of the application form with roll number
• Original Class 10 certificate (proof of date of birth) and mark sheet
• Original Class 12 certificate and mark sheet
• Original photo ID and a copy of your JEE Main 2026 result
• Two sets of self-attested photocopies of these, and 20 self-attested passport-size photos
• DigiLocker copies are not accepted in place of originals
