The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released CEN No. 09/2026 for 191 Isolated Categories posts: Chief Law Assistant, Public Prosecutor, Senior Publicity Inspector, Junior Translator (Hindi), Staff and Welfare Inspector, Scientific Assistant (Training) and Lab Assistant Grade III (Chemist & Metallurgist). Apply online at rrbapply.gov.in from 5 November to 4 December 2026 (11:59 PM).

Selection is through a single CBT, a qualifying translation test for Junior Translator only, then document verification and medical. Everything below is from the detailed CEN 09/2026.

Educational Qualification (Annexure A)

Post	Qualification
Chief Law Assistant	Degree in Law with 3 years' standing practice as a pleader at the bar. Railway employees who are law graduates with 5 years' service can also apply.
Public Prosecutor	Bachelor's degree in Law with 5 years' standing as an advocate at the bar.
Senior Publicity Inspector	Degree plus a diploma in Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism or Mass Communication. Desirable: 2 years' experience.
Junior Translator / Hindi	Master's degree in Hindi or English (with the other language at degree level), or a Master's in any subject with Hindi and English at degree level as set out in the CEN; and a diploma or certificate in Hindi–English translation, or 2 years' translation experience in a Central/State Government office or PSU.
Staff and Welfare Inspector	Graduation plus one of: Diploma in Labour/Social Welfare, Diploma in Labour Laws, LLB with Labour Law papers, PG Diploma in Personnel Management, MBA with Personnel Management papers, MBA (HR), or PG Diploma in HRM.
Scientific Assistant (Training)	Master's degree in Psychology with 50% marks. Desirable: specialisation in industrial, organisational or clinical psychology, counselling experience and computer knowledge.
Lab Assistant Gr. III	12th (+2) with Physics and Chemistry, or equivalent.

You must hold the qualification by 4 December 2026. Candidates awaiting their final result cannot apply.

All candidates must be born on or before 1 January 2009. SC/ST get 5 years and OBC-NCL 3 years of relaxation; ex-servicemen and PwBD get relaxation as per the CEN.

Junior Translator (Hindi)

A single CBT in which at least half the questions test language: 20% English and 30% Hindi. The rest cover general knowledge, general intelligence, simple arithmetic and computer basics.
10 times the vacancies are called for a translation test, which is qualifying only (60% to pass).
The merit list is based on CBT marks alone.

Open rrbapply.gov.in and create an account (or log in if you already have one). Use Aadhaar verification to make later stages smoother.
Choose one RRB and give your preferences for zones/units and posts. Options once given cannot be changed.
Fill in the form with your date of birth exactly as in your Class 10 certificate, upload the photo, signature and documents, and pay the fee online by 6 December 2026.
Submit by 4 December 2026 and keep a printout.
