Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has released the written exam (CBT) result for Head Constable (Ministerial)-2020 on 2 November 2026. The notice lists 1,725 candidates shortlisted for the next stage, the Typing/Skill Test. This is 15 times the 115 vacancies in each category. The CBT was held on 7 July 2026 under Advertisement No. 338/RC/SSB/HC(Min)/2020, which was published in July 2021.
The typing test starts on 16 November 2026 at Alwar and New Delhi, and on 18 November 2026 at Bhopal, Supaul and Gorakhpur. SSB says the admit cards for the typing test will be uploaded on recruitment.ssb.gov.in and ssb.gov.in. As of 3 November 2026 they are not out yet.

The names are in Annexures A (UR), B (EWS), C (OBC), D (SC) and E (ST) of the notice, with roll number, name, father's name, category and gender. When marks are equal, the older candidate is ranked higher; if the date of birth is also the same, names are ranked alphabetically.

Your centre and reporting date will be on your typing test admit card. There is no centre in Uttarakhand; Gorakhpur and New Delhi are the nearest.
Typing Test Rules (Annexure F)
- The test is on a computer, on a paper-to-screen basis: you type a printed passage.
- You get 10 minutes to type the passage.
- You can type in English or Hindi (Mangal or Kruti Dev font).
- Qualifying speed: 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi (10,500 / 9,000 key depressions per hour, taking 5 key depressions per word).
- Mistakes up to 5% of the words typed in 10 minutes are allowed.
- Backspace and Delete keys will work during the test.
What Happens After the Typing Test
- Typing test: qualifying only, at the speeds above.
- Documentation and Detailed Medical Examination (DME): up to 3 times the category-wise vacancies are called. Bring all original documents (Class 10, Class 12, caste/EWS certificate and others) with self-attested copies.
- Review Medical Examination: only for candidates declared unfit in DME who appeal within 24 hours.
- Final result: the merit list is made category-wise on the written exam (CBT) marks only. Passing the typing test and medical does not by itself mean selection.
The PET and PST stages of this recruitment were completed before the CBT.
