Eligibility
- No age limit for JEE Main. Institutes may have their own age rules for admission.
- Class 12 year: passed in 2025 or 2026, or appearing in 2027. If you passed Class 12 in 2024 or earlier, you cannot apply. Improvement attempts do not change your passing year.
- Qualifying exams include any recognised 10+2 board, NIOS (5 subjects), a 3-year AICTE/state diploma and others listed in the bulletin.
- State code of eligibility is the state from where you passed Class 12, not where you live. For example, a student from Uttarakhand who passed Class 12 in Delhi gets Delhi's code.
Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) Exam Pattern
| Subject | Questions (Section A + B) / marks |
| Mathematics | 20 MCQ + 5 numerical = 25 / 100 |
| Physics | 20 MCQ + 5 numerical = 25 / 100 |
| Chemistry | 20 MCQ + 5 numerical = 25 / 100 |
| Total | 75 questions, 300 marks, 3 hours |
- Marking: +4 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong answer in both Section A and Section B, 0 if unanswered.
- Numerical answers are entered as integers (rounded off) on an on-screen keypad.
- Raw scores are converted to NTA scores (percentile), and merit merges all shifts of both sessions.
- Question paper medium: English, or English + Hindi at every centre in India (other regional languages in their states).
How to Apply
- Open jeemain.nta.nic.in → JEE (Main) 2027 Session 1 registration. Sign in through MeriPehchaan (verify with Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence or APAAR).

- Complete the form: paper, four exam cities in order of choice (from your permanent or present address), and education details.
- Capture a live photo with your webcam or by scanning the QR code on your phone. Then upload a photo (10–200 KB, JPG), a signature (10–100 KB) and your Class 10 certificate (PDF, 50–300 KB).
