Every syllabus here is taken from the official syllabus documents on sssc.uk.gov.in, approved by the Personnel and Vigilance Department, Government of Uttarakhand (most issued on 25 August – 5 October 2026). Each section links to its official PDF. We update this page whenever UKSSSC publishes a new or revised syllabus.

Common Rules for All UKSSSC Written Exams

• One objective paper of 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours for almost every post.
• Negative marking: ¼ of the marks of a question is deducted for each wrong answer.
• Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for General/OBC/EWS and 35% for SC/ST (as given in UKSSSC advertisements).
• Exams are mostly offline on OMR sheets; clerical, steno and accounts posts also have a qualifying typing / shorthand test.
• For equal marks, the older candidate is ranked higher.

1. UKSSSC Junior Assistant / Inter Level Syllabus 2026

Official syllabus dated 31 August 2026 (Government approval 25 August 2026) for the Uttarakhand Subordinate Office Clerical Staff (Junior Assistant / other Inter-level) Service Exam.

General Hindi topics

• Language and the Hindi language: types of language, development and forms of Hindi, official Hindi, main dialects of Uttarakhand (Kumaoni, Garhwali).
• Devanagari script and alphabet; Hindi spelling, correct and incorrect words, punctuation, Hindi numerals.
• Word formation: varna, akshar, pratyay, upsarg, noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, vachya, ling, vachan, purush, kriya-visheshan, karak and avyay.
• Vocabulary: tatsam, tadbhav, deshaj, aagat words; one-word, many-meaning, opposite, synonym, word-pair and similar-sounding words.
• Sandhi; sentence types and sentence correction; muhavare and lokoktiyan; letter and office writing (tippan, praroop, vigyapti, official letters); mass media; computers in Hindi.

General Studies topics (40 marks)

General intelligence and reasoning, history, geography, political science, economics, national and international current affairs, and fundamentals of computers.

Uttarakhand GK (40 marks)

History, culture, geography, economy, polity and administration, current events and schemes of Uttarakhand — 40% of the paper, the single biggest part.

2. UKSSSC Graduate Level Syllabus 2026

Official syllabus dated 31 August 2026 for graduate-level posts. The marks split is the same as the Inter level, but the questions are set at graduate standard.

3. UKSSSC Personal Assistant / Steno Syllabus 2026

Official syllabus dated 31 August 2026 for Additional Private Secretary, Stenographer-cum-Data Entry Operator and Personal Assistant: one objective paper on General Hindi, General Knowledge and General Studies (100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours), followed by a qualifying shorthand and typing test.

4. UKSSSC Assistant Accountant Syllabus 2026

Official syllabus dated 3 August 2026 for Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Office Assistant-III (Accounts) and Cashier-cum-Assistant Accountant: one objective paper on Commerce, Business Administration and Accountancy (100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours), followed by a qualifying typing test. The Advt 79 Assistant Accountant exam was postponed — the new date is awaited.

5. UKSSSC Technician Grade-II Syllabus 2026 (Advt 83)

Official syllabus dated 5 October 2026 for Technician Grade-II (Electrical) in UJVN / PTCUL and Technician Grade-II (Mechanical): one objective paper on the trade subject — Electrical or Mechanical — 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours. Applications are open till 25 November 2026.

6. UKSSSC Scaler Syllabus 2026 (Advt 82)

Official syllabus dated 24 September 2026 for Scaler, Uttarakhand Van Vikas Nigam: one objective paper on General Science and General Mathematics (100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours). Candidates first take a qualifying physical efficiency test; only those who pass it sit the written exam.

7. High Court Junior Assistant / Steno Grade-I Syllabus

For Junior Assistant and Stenographer Grade-I in Civil and Family Courts under the High Court of Uttarakhand (Advt 78, exam postponed — new date awaited), UKSSSC issued a separate syllabus on 16 June 2026. See our UKSSSC Court Junior Assistant & Steno post for details.

How to Prepare

1. Start with Uttarakhand GK. It carries 40 of 100 marks in the Inter and Graduate level papers.
2. Don't skip General Hindi. 20 marks of grammar — sandhi, samas, synonyms, muhavare — are among the easiest to score.
3. Mind negative marking. Each wrong answer costs ¼ mark, so avoid blind guesses.
4. Practise typing early for clerical, steno and accounts posts — the test is qualifying.
5. Check the UKSSSC exam calendar to plan which exam comes first.
