The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has released the Uttarakhand Combined State (Civil) Lower Subordinate Services Examination 2026 (Lower PCS) under Advertisement No. A-1/E-2/DR/LSS/2026-27. There are 54 Group 'C' posts, including Nayab Tehsildar (13), Marketing Inspector (20) and Excise Inspector (4). Any graduate aged 21 to 42 can apply online at pscuk.net.in from 6 to 26 November 2026, subject to the Uttarakhand connection rule explained below.
Selection is through a Preliminary exam, a descriptive Main exam and an interview. The exam dates will be announced later. Everything below is from the official 79-page advertisement dated 6 November 2026.

Two years in the Territorial Army or an NCC certificate ("B"; "B" or "C" for some posts) gives preference when other things are equal. You must hold the qualification by 26 November 2026. The date of your marksheet or result declaration is what counts, so enter it correctly in the form.
Uttarakhand Connection Rule (Group 'C')
You must meet any one of these conditions that applies to you:
- High School and Intermediate (or equivalent) passed from recognised institutions in Uttarakhand. Children and spouses of certain soldiers, paramilitary staff and government employees posted in Uttarakhand, and permanent residents living outside for work or study, are also covered, as set out in the advertisement.
- Your name is registered at an employment office in Uttarakhand by the last date of application. See our Rozgar Panjikaran guide. Those already in Uttarakhand government service do not need this.
- Ex-servicemen registered at a District Sainik Kalyan office in Uttarakhand; that registration counts as employment office registration.
Age Limit
- 21 to 42 years as on 1 July 2026: born not before 2 July 1984 and not after 1 July 2005.
- Uttarakhand SC, ST and OBC: 5 more years.
- Dependants of Uttarakhand freedom fighters: 5 more years.
- Uttarakhand persons with disabilities: 10 more years.
- Uttarakhand ex-servicemen can deduct their service period, if the result is within 3 years above the limit.

Prelims (objective, screening only)

Prelims marks are not added to the final merit. The General Studies part includes Uttarakhand's history, culture, geography, economy and administration.

Prelims (19 cities proposed): Almora, Ranikhet, Bageshwar, Champawat, Haldwani, Pithoragarh, Rudrapur, Khatima, Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Roorkee, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pauri Garhwal, Srinagar, Kotdwar and Rudraprayag. You choose in the form; UKPSC may allot another city.
Mains: Haldwani and Haridwar.

Women, ex-servicemen, sportspersons, freedom fighter dependants and state agitators pay the fee of their own category. The fee is not refunded.
How to Apply
- Read the advertisement and go to pscuk.net.in → How to Apply → Apply Now.
- Fill in the registration form with your own mobile number and email and create a password. The mobile number cannot be changed later.
- Log in and add your High School, Intermediate and graduation details.
- Upload your photo and signature, check the form and tick the declaration.
- Pay the fee by net banking, card or UPI by 26 November and print the application. Do not post it to UKPSC; keep it for document verification.
