The older posts were added following the Allahabad High Court order of 15 April 2026 (Special Appeal No. 376/2026). Eligibility
- Post-graduate degree with at least 50% marks from a university established by law in India or recognised by the government.
- B.Ed from an NCTE-recognised course.
- Experience: at least 4 years of teaching as a lecturer or assistant teacher in classes 9 to 12 of an institution recognised by the Centre or a state, or at least 4 years as headmaster of a high school, certified by the competent authority (district officer, countersigned at divisional level; regional officer for Kendriya Vidyalayas).
- Age: at least 30 years on 1 July 2026. Applications of candidates older than 62 on 1 July 2026 are not accepted.

How to Apply
- Complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the UPESSC application portal — it is compulsory.
- Log in, select Advt 08/2026 (Principal) and fill your post-graduation, B.Ed and experience details.
- Upload your photo and signature, accept the declaration and pay ₹2,000 online (card, net banking or UPI).
- Submit by 22 November 2026 and print the form. Corrections are allowed till 25 November.
Keep your experience certificate ready in the prescribed form — it must be issued by the district-level competent authority and countersigned at the divisional level.
