How shortlisting works
- From candidates scoring 50 or more in the objective test, about 10 times the vacancies (1:10) are called, on merit, for the typing and descriptive tests.
- Typing test: mistakes allowed up to 3% of the words typed. A wrong word or figure is a full mistake; a wrong capital/small letter or an omitted, added or substituted punctuation mark is a half mistake.
- The descriptive paper (comprehension, précis and essay in English) is evaluated only for candidates who pass the typing test.
- Candidates who pass all three tests are called for interview in the ratio 1:3 to vacancies. The interview may be online or in person in Delhi.
Exam Centres for Uttarakhand Candidates
The objective test is held in 131 cities. In Uttarakhand the centres are Dehradun, Haldwani and Roorkee; nearby options include Delhi/NCR, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Moradabad and Bareilly. You choose cities in order of preference while applying, but the Registry may shift you to another city. The typing test and descriptive test are held only in Delhi/NCR. No TA/DA is paid for any stage.
