Eligibility Criteria (as on 1 September 2026)
Educational Qualification
- A degree (graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification.
- Graduation must have been passed between 1 January 2023 and 1 September 2026 (both dates included). Older graduates are not eligible.
Age Limit
Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years — born between 2 September 1998 and 1 September 2006 (both dates included).
| Category | Upper age relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC / ST | 5 years |
| OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) | 3 years |
| Persons with Benchmark Disabilities | 10 years |
| Widows, divorced or legally separated women (not remarried) | Up to 35 years (Gen/EWS), 38 (OBC), 40 (SC/ST) |
Who Cannot Apply
- Anyone who has already done (or is doing) apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act with Canara Bank or any other organisation, or whose apprenticeship was terminated due to their own fault.
- Candidates with one year or more of training or job experience after graduation.
- Ex-Servicemen / Disabled Ex-Servicemen (no reservation or engagement for them in this programme).
Local Language
Candidates must know the local language of the state they choose. Those who studied that language in Class 10 or 12 (with mark sheet as proof) are exempt; others take a local language test at document verification. Failing it means no engagement.
Selection Process — No Written Exam
- State-wise merit list based on the percentage of marks in Class 12 (HSC/10+2) or Diploma.
- Minimum marks: 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD). Fractions are ignored — 59.99% counts as below 60%.
- If two candidates have the same percentage, the older candidate ranks higher.
- Document verification and local language test.
- Medical fitness as per the bank’s requirements.
- Selected candidates receive a digital apprenticeship contract on the NATS portal, which must be accepted within the given time.
A state- and category-wise wait list is kept for one year. Because merit depends only on Class 12 marks, enter your percentage carefully — any mismatch at document verification leads to disqualification.
