Clerk Selection Process (100 marks)

PhaseTestMarks
Phase 1English typing test on computer, 10 minutes15
Phase 2Written test (MCQ), 90 minutes, 70 questions70
Phase 3Academic marks: Class 10, Class 12 and graduation (5 marks each, on a percentage basis)15

Typing test marks: how they are calculated

  • Speed is measured in Net Words Per Minute (NWPM). The minimum to qualify is 30 NWPM.
  • Marks = (NWPM − 30) × 0.5, up to a maximum of 15. So 30 NWPM gets 0 marks, 40 NWPM gets 5 marks, and 60 NWPM or more gets the full 15.
  • Only candidates who reach 30 NWPM can sit the written test. The typing test is both a qualifying hurdle and part of your merit, so every extra word per minute counts.
  • The portal has typing-test instructions, a step-by-step guide and the formula. Read them before your slot so you know which keys or actions to avoid.

There is no negative marking. Candidates are called for document verification at 1:5 of the posts in each category, based on the combined marks of all three phases. If scores are tied, the older candidate ranks higher, then the candidate whose name comes first alphabetically in English, then by father's name.

Staff Nurse and Ayurvedic Pharmacist Exam Pattern

These posts have a 105-minute MCQ written test worth 90 marks, plus 10 marks for academic achievement (percentage in GNM/B.Sc. Nursing, or in Up-Vaidya/Diploma in Ayurvedic Pharmacy). There is no negative marking.
