Chest expansion must be at least 5 cm. To claim the ST or hill-area relaxation, you must have the relevant certificate. Candidates who fail the measurement are out at that stage.

The events are held in this order. If you do not reach the minimum in any one event (10 minutes for the run, 50 m for the throw, 12 ft for the jump), you are disqualified on the spot.

The merit list is made category-wise against the vacancies. If marks are tied, the older candidate is selected, and if the dates of birth are also the same, the one with higher physical test marks is selected. No waiting list is made.
Medical Standards
- Vision without glasses: at least 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other. Right-handed candidates need 6/6 in the right eye, and left-handed candidates in the left eye.
- No colour blindness.
- Knock knees, flat feet, bow legs, varicose veins, disability or any deformity that would affect duty makes a candidate unfit.
- The examination is done by the Chief Medical Officer or Chief Medical Superintendent, and doubtful cases go to a medical board.
Duty and Allowance
Home Guard volunteers are not paid a monthly salary. They are called for duty whenever the administration needs them. For each day on duty they receive the daily duty allowance fixed by the government, along with the dearness allowance and washing allowance admissible to them. Appointment is under Section 7(2) of the Home Guards Act for an initial 3 years, including training, and can be extended with the volunteer's consent.
Documents Attached With the Form
- 2 recent passport-size colour photos (self-attested)
- Educational certificates, one of them showing the date of birth
- Permanent residence certificate issued by the competent authority in Dehradun district
- Caste certificate and EWS certificate, if applicable
- Hill-area residence certificate, for the height relaxation
- Character certificate from the head of the last institution attended, or from a gazetted officer
- No Objection Certificate, if employed in a government or semi-government department
- Certificates for NCC, sports, driving licence or Home Guard family marks, if claimed
Other Rules in the Notice
- Only one application per candidate, and in only one district. If more than one form was found, only the first one was accepted.
- Candidates were not informed individually. All updates, including the list of rejected forms and roll numbers, were posted on the office notice board and the "Dehradun Homeguards" Facebook page.
- No travel allowance is paid for attending, and the department is not responsible for any accident during recruitment.
- Fake documents lead to cancellation and legal action. Beware of touts.
